- Hilton M. Wiener
- J.D., LLM, CPA, Realtor. Hilton Wiener has been a New York attorney for 30 years, although he now spends considerable time in south Florida. He practiced law at a prominent law firm in New York, specializing in real estate and taxation prior to becoming Tax Counsel for Shell Oil Company in Houston. He holds the advanced law degree of Masters of Law in Taxation from NYU and is also a CPA and a real estate broker. Additionally, he is a seasoned real estate investor and landlord, having invested in Houston, New York and Florida. He has published several articles, lectured and drafted tax legislation. He represented developers in New York, such as Harry Helmsley, handling what has become the landmark landlord-tenant case in the country on the Warranty of Habitability. He subsequently represented tenants' associations and led one of the largest rent strikes in New York history, holding millions of dollars of rent in escrow in order to negotiate a rent increase. He has (fortunately or unfortunately) the perspective of having participated and endured several real estate cycles and meltdowns, although this is undoubtedly the worst. Email Hill2020@aol.com.
